Types of Dentures

Full Dentures

Full dentures are used when all of a person’s natural teeth are missing. They are custom-made to fit the individual patient’s mouth and can be removed for cleaning. 

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used when some of a person’s natural teeth remain. They are designed to fill in the gaps created by missing teeth and are typically held in place by clips that attach to the remaining natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures

This are similar to full dentures, but they are anchored in place by dental implants. The implants are surgically placed into the jawbone and then a denture is attached to them.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures, also known as temporary dentures, are inserted immediately after tooth extraction. You can think of these as a “placeholder” for the first two to three months until your permanent dentures are ready.
